Sales Development Representative (SDR) – Regulated Sector

SR2 is partnering with a fast-growing technology business that helps organisations operating in highly regulated environments solve complex business challenges through innovative technology.

Following significant growth – from just four employees to more than forty in three years – they're looking for an ambitious Sales Development Representative to join their collaborative commercial team and help drive further expansion across the regulated sector.

This isn't your traditional high-pressure, volume-led SDR position.

You'll become an expert in the company's technology and the challenges facing organisations across regulated industries, building relationships with prospective customers, understanding their priorities and identifying where the business can add genuine value.

They're looking for someone bubbly, energetic and naturally engaging – someone who can pick up the phone, quickly build rapport and really grip a prospect during a conversation.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Speaking with prospective customers via telephone, email and LinkedIn.
  • Building relationships with organisations operating across regulated markets.
  • Qualifying inbound enquiries and identifying genuine commercial opportunities.
  • Building targeted outbound campaigns into strategic accounts.
  • Researching organisations and identifying relevant decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Booking qualified meetings for the Business Development team.
  • Understanding customer challenges around areas such as regulation, compliance, governance, security and operational risk.
  • Keeping HubSpot updated with accurate prospect and customer information.
  • Working closely with Marketing on targeted campaigns.
  • Developing a strong understanding of the regulated technology landscape.
  • Helping improve messaging, outreach strategies and campaign ideas.

You might have experience in:

  • SDR / BDR or new business sales within B2B SaaS or enterprise technology.
  • Selling into banks, financial services, fintechs, insurers or other regulated organisations.
  • Selling solutions across AI, RegTech, compliance, risk, fraud, financial crime, data or cybersecurity.
  • Engaging senior stakeholders across areas such as Compliance, Risk, Legal, Technology, Data or Operations.
  • Prospecting into enterprise accounts where the sales process requires research, personalisation and an understanding of complex customer challenges.
  • Working with emerging or technical products where you’ve had to quickly understand the technology and translate it into a compelling commercial message.

Direct experience in all of the above isn’t essential. We’d also be interested in people coming from recruitment, customer success, account management or another customer-facing commercial role who can demonstrate strong outbound ability, commercial curiosity and the confidence to engage senior decision-makers.

We'd love to hear from people who are:

  • Naturally curious and commercially minded — you want to understand how a business works, not just follow a script.
  • Confident and engaging on the phone, including when speaking with senior stakeholders.
  • Able to ask intelligent questions and get underneath complex business, risk and compliance challenges.
  • Comfortable researching target accounts and identifying the right people and reasons to engage.
  • Interested in AI and emerging technology, particularly how it's being adopted within regulated industries.
  • Resilient and motivated by creating opportunities from cold or early-stage conversations.
  • Emotionally intelligent and able to build credibility quickly with different types of stakeholders.
  • Organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership without needing constant direction.
  • Keen to develop your commercial skills by learning from experienced sales professionals.

Previous experience selling into a regulated industry would be advantageous, but isn't essential. We're more interested in finding someone with the personality, curiosity and commercial drive to learn the market and build strong relationships.

  • Office available for anyone who prefers an office environment.
  • Clear opportunity to progress into Business Development.
  • Exposure to complex enterprise and regulated-sector sales.
  • Learn directly from experienced commercial leaders.
  • Work within a genuinely collaborative commercial culture.
  • Join a rapidly growing technology business.
  • Build expertise in a market where technology investment continues to accelerate.
