We're looking for a hands-on UAV Engineer to join a growing UK business developing and building unmanned aircraft systems.
This is a practical engineering role where you'll be working directly with UAV hardware, assembling platforms, integrating flight controllers and electronics, and getting aircraft ready for operation.
We're particularly interested in people who enjoy the hands-on side of engineering, whether that's building UAVs professionally, developing drone platforms or working on complex personal UAV projects.
Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone who understands how UAVs are put together and enjoys getting hands-on with the hardware. You don't need to have experience with every component listed below.
- Practical experience building, assembling or integrating UAVs/drones
- Good understanding of UAV components, electronics and flight control hardware
- Experience with wiring, connecting and troubleshooting electronic systems
- Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware integration issues
- Comfortable working in a workshop and taking ownership of practical engineering tasks
Useful Experience:
- Pixhawk, Cube Orange or similar flight controllers
- ArduPilot or PX4
- RC receivers, telemetry systems and radio communications
- UAV avionics, sensors and GPS/GNSS integration
- Power distribution, ESCs, motors and propulsion systems
- Flight controller configuration and calibration
- UAV ground testing and fault-finding
- Building fixed-wing, multirotor or hybrid UAV platforms
- Previous experience with a UAV/UAS manufacturer or drone development business
