SR2 are supporting a key consulting client in delivering a finance transformation commission within the real estate arm of an infrastructure client.
The immediate focus is to improve month-end close and forecasting processes across a large and complex property portfolio, driving accuracy, pace, and consistency across multiple business units.
You’ll act as the day-to-day lead consultant on the ground, supported by the Finance Transformation SME, and will play a key role in identifying and implementing process improvements at pace, helping the client move from spreadsheet-based finance operations to a more reliable, automated, and insight-driven model.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end review and optimisation of month-end close and forecasting processes for the real estate division.
Work closely with finance and operational teams to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and data quality issues impacting performance.
Design and implement process improvements aligned to lean / Six Sigma principles and best practice finance operations.
Collaborate with client teams to transition from Excel-based forecasting to Power BI and other digital tooling.
Ensure compliance with IFRS 16 and other complex property accounting standards.
Engage with senior stakeholders — from Finance Directors to middle management — to drive adoption, pace, and cultural alignment across the change.
Provide practical, hands-on support to ensure process changes are sustainable and embedded by the end of the engagement.Required Experience
Qualified (or Part-Qualified) Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with demonstrable experience in finance transformation or process improvement projects – (essential)
Strong background in month-end close, financial reporting, and forecasting for large property or real estate portfolios (e.g. rent, subletting, development, refurbishment).
Proven track record of process redesign and optimisation, ideally underpinned by Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
Deep understanding of IFRS 16 and property accounting intricacies.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to influence and drive change across finance and operations.
Comfortable operating autonomously within an agile, consulting-led engagement.
Experience working within complex finance environments using SAP (ECC6 or S/4HANA) and Power BI (preferred, not essential).Engagement Context
