SR2 is partnering with a creative technology studio that designs and builds exceptional digital experiences with real-world impact for clients, users, and the planet. They are looking for a Front End Practice Lead to guide a high-performing FE team, raise engineering standards, and help deliver modern web products at pace.
What you will be doing:
- Lead and grow a Front End engineering practice: coaching, mentoring, and setting technical direction
- Own quality and delivery for FE across multiple client projects (hands-on when needed)
- Drive cross-discipline collaboration (engineering, design, delivery, product)
- Define reusable technical components/approaches that scale across projects
- Run effective rituals: team meetings, actions, accountability, continuous improvement
- Support planning, estimation, and delivery of medium-large workstreams
- Contribute to pitches/RFPs and client workshops; build trusted stakeholder relationships
- Partner with senior tech leadership to shape the broader engineering roadmap
- Hire well: interview, assess, and help onboard new team members
What you will bring:
- Strong people leadership: you can motivate teams, develop careers, and give clear feedback
- Proven commercial delivery experience in fast-paced environments with fixed timescales
- Deep FE expertise: React, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+)
- Strong grasp of accessibility and inclusive engineering best practice
- Confident integrating with APIs/web services
- Solid approach to tooling, testing, performance optimisation, and code quality
- Practical Agile experience (iterative, incremental delivery)
- Version control excellence (Git) and modern collaboration workflows (e.g., Jira)
- Working knowledge of browser/device security and performance considerations
- TDD/automated testing mindset (unit + acceptance testing)
- Interest in emerging web tech and standards
- Exposure to CMS-driven builds
