Cloud Policy | Governance | Secure Cloud Adoption

SR2 is supporting a critical programme delivering secure cloud capabilities across highly secure environments. We are looking for a Policy & Standards Lead to take ownership of developing and aligning SCC-specific policies and standards in line with departmental governance and wider requirements. This role will play a key part in ensuring cloud services are secure, compliant, scalable, and fit for adoption across stakeholders.

The Role

You will lead the discovery, development, and assurance of policy and standards required for SCC adoption, working closely with security teams and delivery leadership. The role requires strong engagement with stakeholders to validate, socialise, and embed policy outputs across governance forums.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct an initial discovery phase to assess existing policies and identify gaps
  • Lead the development of SCC-specific policies and standards aligned to Defence Digital governance
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with JSPs, GovS 007, and the MOD Security Policy Framework
  • Produce onboarding, service management, and operational security standards for SCC adoption
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to drive policy understanding and buy-in
  • Provide assurance that policies are enforceable and aligned with MOD governance boards
  • Report monthly progress against RAG items to the Delivery Lead and Engagement Manager

Essential

  • Strong knowledge of MOD and HMG policy frameworks (JSPs, GovS 007, MOD Security Policy Framework)
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining security and operational policies in cloud environments
  • Experience aligning new policies with existing Defence Digital governance
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
  • Experience working across secure cloud environments (SECRET and OFFICIAL)
  • Excellent written communication and policy drafting capability
  • Active SC Clearance

Desirable

  • Experience working with SCC or similar secure cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with MODNet/PUID environments

The Details

  • Contract: 6 months initially (likely to extend)
  • IR35: Inside IR35
  • Rate: £450p/d - £500p/d
  • Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week on-site.
