SR2 has partnered with a niche consultancy delivering mission-critical projects into the Defence sector. Our client has secured a new Discovery phase engagement within a highly secure MOD environment, focusing on the implementation of a Zero Trust ICAM solution designed by leading cybersecurity provider Akamai Technologies. This is an initial 3-month contract based on-site in Corsham, with strong potential for long-term extension into MVP delivery and multi-year workstreams.

We're looking for an experienced Technical Lead who can bridge high-level architecture, stakeholder engagement, and technical oversight of ICAM feasibility and delivery. You'll work as part of a focused delivery team, collaborating with MOD stakeholders, Akamai product specialists, and internal compliance teams to adapt and align the ICAM solution within a classified environment.

Skills/Experience:

  • Proven technical leadership experience within Defence or National Security programmes
  • Deep knowledge of Zero Trust architecture, identity federation, SSO, MFA, and security controls
  • Strong understanding of MOD compliance frameworks, including JSP policies and accreditation pathways
  • Experience with MODCloud, AWS Secret, or UKCloud deployments
  • Excellent stakeholder communication, able to interface with senior technical and compliance teams
  • Hands-on experience in designing secure IAM architectures - ABAC, RBAC, identity federation, etc.
  • Familiarity with identity APIs (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect) and secure authentication protocols
  • Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and security architecture artefacts

This role requires DV Clearance, with an expected start date of May 2025. The position will be Outside IR35, offering a competitive day rate and a strong pipeline of future work into delivery and operational implementation phases.
