Want to work at the forefront of Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) and help shape the future of aviation? This high-growth aerospace & defence business (40%+ year-on-year growth since 2019) is expanding its Systems Engineering function and is hiring a Systems Engineering Team Lead. You’ll combine hands-on technical leadership with mentoring and line management in a true player-coach role.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the design, development, and integration of avionics, control, navigation, payload, and C2 systems
- Line manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary systems engineering team
- Own systems integration across air vehicle platforms, including power, fuel, and payloads
- Support flight test activity and resolve complex technical issues
- Contribute to hiring and onboarding as the team continues to grow
What we’re looking for:
- Degree (BSc/MSc) in Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong experience with complex electrical, electronic, or software-based systems
- Systems integration experience using software and/or hardware-based rigs
- Confident mentor, ideally with prior line management experience
- British Citizen eligible for Security Clearance (5 years UK residency)
Nice to have:
- UAS experience, flight control systems, flight test exposure
- MATLAB, Python, SolidWorks
