Most battery engineering roles involve optimising an existing product. This role is about creating the next one. We're supporting a pioneering company developing some of the most advanced UAV platforms operating anywhere in the world today. As part of a growing Concept Development team, you'll take ownership of battery systems from initial requirements through to flight-ready hardware. Unlike many organisations where battery engineers sit in a narrow specialist function, here you'll work closely with propulsion, avionics, mechanical and flight test teams, seeing your designs progress rapidly from concept to airborne reality.
What you'll be doing:
- Designing and integrating advanced battery pack solutions from concept through to production
- Developing battery architectures using pouch cell technologies
- Creating and executing test and validation programmes
- Building and evaluating prototype battery systems
- Working on thermal management, packaging and high-voltage integration challenges
- Collaborating closely with suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Supporting the development of next-generation energy solutions for autonomous aircraft
We're interested in engineers who bring:
- Strong battery pack design and cell integration experience

- Knowledge of thermal management and battery safety principles
