I’m recruiting for a Test Engineer to join my client based in North Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on exciting, cutting-edge projects, from bespoke mobile applications to hardware integrated systems and connected cloud services. You’ll need to be happy coming into the Bristol office three days a week, and due to the nature of the work, a British passport is required for security clearance.
The role will initially focus on manual testing, but there’s an increasing drive towards automation as well as broader experimentation with tooling and AI. You’ll have the chance to get hands-on with test automation in the future, and while you don’t need to be an automation expert from day one, curiosity, willingness to explore, and a desire to broaden your skills are essential.
Projects are varied and genuinely interesting, often including hardware components and complex systems. You’ll join a collaborative test team, working closely with engineering teams to champion best practices, elevate product quality, and influence testing strategy across multi-disciplinary projects. There are opportunities to work on full-stack products, contribute to end-to-end delivery, and support acceptance and release phases.
We’re looking for people with a solid manual software testing background, as well as ideally some experience with hardware/IoT and/or connected systems, with some experience or a genuine interest in test automation, along with an interest in learning new technologies. Experience with mobile testing, hardware, or complex integrated systems is a strong advantage.
Just as important is mindset, curiosity, commitment, and a drive to constantly improve are highly valued. This is a place where testers are genuinely valued. You’ll have the chance to shape processes, influence automation adoption, and grow your career.
