Are you a highly collaborative Modelling and Simulation Engineer ready to grow and develop the modelling capabilities for a leader in Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) development? Join a rapidly growing specialist in aircraft operations and technology, contributing directly to aircraft performance analyses and flight dynamics modeling.
You will work within the Air Vehicle Design team, focused on multi-disciplinary modelling and simulation activities.
As a Modelling and Simulation Engineer, you will:
- Model and Analyse: Build models, simulate, and analyse aircraft performance and flight dynamics.
- Implement Test Environments: Implement flight simulation and visualisation test environments.
- Design Control Algorithms: Contribute to the design of control algorithms and support the team effort to establish a library of reusable models/tools.
- Documentation and Validation: Write comprehensive technical documentation (specifications, test plans) and gather modelling data through bench/flight testing activities.
What We’re Looking For
- Modelling Proficiency: Proficient in the use of Matlab/Simulink or a comparable modelling tool.
- UAV Dynamics: Demonstrable knowledge of UAV flight dynamics physics and flight control systems.
- Attributes & Clearance: Must be a British Citizen, able to work onsite routinely (minimum 3 days per week), and possess the ability to hold Security Clearance (5 years residence in the UK).
If you are an excellent communicator, collaborative, and demonstrate strong problem-solving ability, then we want to hear from you. Experience with aerodynamics knowledge (CFD), model validation, or civil/military aerospace standards is desirable.
This is a permanent opportunity with a salary range of £40,000 - £50,000.
