Director of Technology – London (Hybrid) AI/ML consultancy – £150,000
The intersection of where AI meets hardware is fascinating.
It’s an incredibly complex space, with lots of challenges still to be solved; but the application is massive.
As the Director of Technology you will work alongside the Commercial Director to spearhead a rapidly growing division of one of the worlds leading AI Consultancies. Your remit will be all things tech – Initially line managing the 40 engineers in place, whilst growing that number closer to 100. You’ll focus on strategy and not be too far removed from the tech overall. This will allow you to have a holistic overview of the entire technical remit, but be able to hop into specific aspects to help on technical challenges where needed.
Your team are some of the most skilled AI & ML Engineers in the UK. Your department will be building and deploying models onto safety critical hardware. So ideally you have an understanding of this world – think ML/AI but also Embedded Systems & associated Electronics.
Why join?
When I say they are a world leader in AI I truly mean it. Their work history, their integration with governments and the minds that make up their leadership is second-to-none. That said this is a fairly new division for them. This means you’ll be joining somewhere you can really leave a legacy and you’ll have the financial and technical backing to execute the strategy you architect. The work is also truly fascinating. A lot of conversation I have with people in this space is around the ‘tech of tomorrow’ and it always quietly makes me smile when I know this organisation are delivering this today.
Your background:
In short, someone looking to take a step up into this role is okay. You’ll need strong experience managing technical teams, but if those teams have more been around c.30 people then that’s okay. You don’t need to have a background leading 100 engineers – that’s something you’ll gain in the future here. The main priority is your technical focus. The Commercial Director is there for Client facing aspects of the department, sales etc. Your is leading and dictating strategy from a technical perspective. Your work history should also include the cross over of embedded systems & AI/ML.
We have up to £150,000 as a basic for this role and it comes with good benefits and equity on top! It’s a hybrid position working from the London office 2 days a week.
