About the Opportunity
We are a fast-growing, cutting-edge company working at the forefront of unmanned air systems (UAS) development in the UK. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a talented Product Safety Engineer to join our engineering team and play a pivotal role in shaping the safety of next-generation aerial platforms. You will report directly to the Chief Engineer and sit at the heart of our engineering lifecycle driving safety integration from concept through to certification.
What You Will Be Doing
- Evaluating aircraft and system/sub-system design safety in support of platform safety certification
- Generating, reviewing and maintaining safety engineering documentation including:
- Zonal Hazard Analysis (ZHA)
- Preliminary Hazard Lists (PHL)
- Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA)
- System/Sub-System Hazard Analysis and Fault Tree Analysis
- Safety Assessment Reports
What We Are Looking For
Essential:- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant STEM discipline
- 3–5 years' experience in a product safety engineering role within aerospace
- Solid knowledge of UAS safety regulations and standards
- Proven ability to engage cross-functional engineering teams on safety matters
- Eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (requires 5 years' UK residency)
- Experience with UAS and/or autonomous systems
- Defence sector background
- Engagement with aviation regulators (e.g. national civil or military airworthiness authorities)
- Model-Based Systems Engineering, Agile/Scrum Requirements Engineering, Configuration Management, or Certification experience
