I’m working with a growing tech team in Cardiff that’s looking for a QA Test Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. They operate a hybrid working model, usually coming into the office twice a week, with Wednesdays being the main team day.
You’ll be joining a close-knit team of 12, including 6 developers and 2 QA engineers. The work is varied and interesting, spanning a range of public-facing and internal systems. These include a digital ledger system that manages tax-efficient investments, a bond investment platform for both individual and high-net-worth clients, and a fully in-house document generation system used to produce tax letters and other correspondence.
In this role, you’ll work closely with developers in an Agile environment to ensure appropriate test coverage, with a focus on automation where it adds real value. They use Playwright and TypeScript for frontend test automation and C# for backend work. They’re also beginning to explore how AI tools can support testing and streamline QA processes, so there’s room to innovate.
They’re looking for someone who has an analytical mindset, enjoys solving problems, and is always looking for ways to improve how things are done. You should be confident identifying gaps in quality and suggesting improvements to testing processes. Ideally, you’ll be a mid-level or senior QA with some experience in automation. That said, you don’t need to be a superstar; if you’re newer to automation but eager to build your skills, they’re happy to support your development. There’s also plenty of automation work to keep someone with solid test automation experience busy.
Salary is between £40,000 and £50,000 depending on experience. If you’d like to hear more, please apply below or get in touch with Sam Miller at SR2 – Socially Responsible Recruitment.
