We’re looking for a QA & Test Engineer to support the development of safety-critical software for advanced AI and autonomous systems applications.
This role focuses on verification, validation, and automated testing across embedded and runtime assurance platforms, working closely with software, systems, and autonomy engineers within a fast-growing deep-tech environment.
You’ll be involved in CI/CD pipelines, Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, simulation environments, and broader verification activities supporting next-generation autonomous systems capability.
The business is currently operating at the cutting edge of autonomy and physical AI safety, developing technology designed to ensure autonomous platforms behave safely and predictably in real-world environments.
Skills & Experience:
- Essential:
- Experience in software QA, verification, or embedded systems testing
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Experience with scripting / automation tools (Python, Bash, etc.)
- Knowledge of Git and modern development workflows
- Experience with test frameworks such as pytest or gtest
- Strong debugging and problem-solving capability
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced startup or R&D environments
- Desirable:
- Experience within safety-critical systems
- Exposure to standards such as DO-178C, ISO 26262, or IEC 61508
- Experience with SIL / HIL testing environments
- Familiarity with ROS, Gazebo, or robotics simulation tools
- Aerospace, defence, robotics, or autonomous systems background
- Experience with static / dynamic analysis tooling
Additional Information:
- Hybrid working (3 days onsite in Oxford)
- Occasional travel to London office (~twice yearly)
- Additional onsite expectation during key delivery phases
- £50k–£60k salary
