Project Manager – Engineering Programmes Bedford | £45,000–£55,000 | Onsite This isn’t a typical project management role where you’re tracking tasks in isolation. You’ll be working at the centre of complex engineering programmes, coordinating multidisciplinary teams delivering highly specialised projects for aerospace and defence customers. The work is varied, technically challenging and often bespoke – where strong organisation, communication and commercial awareness all matter. You’ll act as the link between technical teams, commercial, finance and stakeholders, helping shape projects from early bid stage through to delivery. That means building plans, managing risks, aligning resources and keeping projects on track in environments where requirements can evolve. A big part of the role is understanding enough of the technical detail to ask the right questions and guide delivery – without needing to be the subject matter expert yourself. What you’ll be doing Coordinating project teams to deliver complex engineering programmes Acting as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders and clients Supporting bid activity, including planning, estimating and proposal development Building schedules, work breakdown structures and resource plans Managing risks, dependencies and change throughout the project lifecycle Ensuring clear communication across teams and stakeholders What will make you a fit Experience managing technical or engineering-led projects Ability to understand and work alongside technical teams and subject matter experts Strong organisational and communication skills Experience working to time, cost and quality constraints A proactive approach to problem-solving and delivery This is ideal for a Project Manager who enjoys working in technically complex environments, collaborating with experts, and keeping challenging projects moving forward.
