The Opportunity
We’re working with a high-growth B2B SaaS startup building an advanced enterprise data and decision intelligence platform. They’re looking for a Data Operations Engineer at an early stage in their career who enjoys working behind the scenes to keep complex systems running smoothly. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in data quality, reliability, and operational excellence, and who wants to build strong technical foundations while contributing to a platform used by large, global organisations. You’ll support multiple client environments, helping to manage data operations, integrations, and internal workflows that enable the platform to operate reliably at scale.
About the Company
The business is a category-defining technology startup founded by experienced business and technology leaders. Their product unifies complex internal and external datasets into a single enterprise platform, enabling organisations to plan, execute, and make strategic decisions more effectively. Launched in the early 2020s, the company has already been adopted by multiple global industrial and enterprise clients and continues to grow rapidly. The platform combines deep data integration, robust operational workflows, and modern AI capabilities to deliver meaningful impact across large organisations.
The Role
As a Data Operations Engineer, you’ll form part of the operational backbone of the platform. You’ll help maintain data pipelines, ensure client environments are correctly configured, and support the accuracy of business-critical metrics. The role involves juggling work across multiple teams, requiring strong organisation, clear communication, and attention to detail. This is a hands-on position with real responsibility and exposure to production-grade data systems early in your career. You’ll work with a mix of low-code/no-code tooling and Python/SQL, and you’ll actively look for ways to improve internal processes using automation and AI tools.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the smooth operation of multiple client implementations
- Build, monitor, and maintain data pipelines and integrations
- Use Python, SQL, and low-code analytics tools to transform and validate data
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across complex workflows
- Investigate and resolve data issues with support from senior engineers
- Coordinate with product, engineering, and implementation teams
- Contribute to documentation and operational best practices
What We’re Looking For
- A degree in a quantitative or technical subject, or equivalent practical experience
- Some hands-on experience with Python and SQL (internships, university projects, or similar)
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Clear written and verbal communication
- High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership
- Motivation to learn quickly in a fast-paced startup environment
Nice to Have
- Exposure to data engineering or analytics concepts (ETL, data modelling, analytics engineering)
- Familiarity with tools such as PySpark, Airflow, dbt, or Databricks
- Experience working with business systems (ERP, CRM, operational data)
- Interest in B2B SaaS, data platforms, or AI-enabled products
What’s On Offer
- Build a strong technical foundation at a rapidly scaling, category-defining startup
- Close mentorship from experienced engineers and operators
- Early exposure to real-world, production-scale data systems
- Meaningful responsibility from day one
- Competitive compensation with clear growth opportunities
- Modern, collaborative office in central London
- A mission-driven company committed to social and environmental impact
