Overview:
We have an extremely exciting opportunity for a Principal position with one of our most desirable clients. An established cloud and platform engineering consultancy, they are looking for a Principal Platform Engineer in AWS; you’ll play a senior technical leadership role across complex cloud and platform engineering engagements. You’ll work closely with engineers, architects and delivery leads to design and evolve secure, scalable and resilient cloud platforms, while guiding teams towards modern DevOps and platform engineering practices.
As a company, their focus is on strong platform foundations, combining automation, governance and developer enablement, to help engineering teams move faster without compromising on reliability or security. They support large-scale transformation programmes as well as long-term platform evolution. This is a hands-on leadership role, sitting at the intersection of engineering, architecture and consultancy. You’ll also help shape internal engineering standards, patterns and reusable approaches.
Security Clearance: Candidates must hold active SC clearance or be eligible to obtain it.
Requirements:
- Strong platform engineering experience, designing secure, scalable cloud platforms with deep expertise in AWS.
- Proven background in infrastructure-as-code, automation and scripting (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, Python).
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and managed container platforms (EKS, AKS or GKE).
- Advanced knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, containerisation and serverless technologies.
- Solid experience designing and managing secure AWS networking (VPCs, VPNs, load balancing and transit networking).
- Demonstrated leadership on large, complex cloud programmes, including mentoring engineers and working closely with enterprise customers in consultancy environments.
