I’m looking for a Junior developer / Application Support Engineer to join a lovely digital team who are passionate about delivering great products and experiences for their customers. The role is mostly remote, but you’ll catch up with the team in person around once every two months in Cardiff.
You’ll be providing technical level support for a range of internal and customer facing systems, from web applications and CMS platforms to more complex software products. Your day to day will include troubleshooting issues, monitoring application performance, and working closely with the development team to tackle trickier technical challenges, deploy updates, and continuously improve the systems.
As the team doesn’t currently have a dedicated testing function, you’ll also get hands on with testing (integration and regression) when needed, helping ensure everything runs smoothly and reliably. You’ll use your experience to create clear, user-friendly support documentation too, like guides, FAQs and incident reports.
They’re looking for someone technically minded with some coding experience (they are technology agnostic so work with a range of different languages so they are totally open to experience in any coding languages) with experience supporting software or CMS-based products ideally. Any exposure to software testing would be useful but isn’t essential, along with a collaborative, can-do attitude and great communication skills.
There are also routes into development further down the line for people interested in moving into this area, although the role will be focusing on technical level support in the immediate term. Salary is anywhere up to £37,000 dependent on experience.
