We are supporting a discovery and high-fidelity prototyping programme focused on designing a new shared digital service to support complex, multi-organisation regulatory processes. This is a short, sharp discovery engagement where technical direction and pragmatism are key.
As the Technical Architect, you will provide technical leadership throughout discovery, shaping a realistic and scalable target architecture that can support a future build phase. You will work closely with service design, delivery, and prototyping colleagues to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible, secure, and extensible.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess existing platforms, services, and data sources to identify reuse and integration opportunities
- Define a high-level target architecture, including integration patterns and data flows
- Advise on security, data-sharing, and scalability considerations
- Identify technical constraints, risks, and assumptions that should shape the prototype and future delivery
- Support the discovery outputs with clear architectural thinking to enable a smooth transition into build
- Strong experience as a Technical Architect within discovery or early-phase digital programmes
- Proven ability to assess legacy systems, platforms, and data sources
- Experience defining high-level architectures and integration approaches
- Solid understanding of security, data governance, and cross-organisation data sharing
- Comfortable working collaboratively with service designers, BAs, and prototypers
Contract: Outside IR35
Rate: £500 per day
Location: Fully remote
Duration: ~8 weeks (immediate start, fixed discovery phase)
