SOC Analyst / Cyber Security Operations Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Operations Specialist to provide additional capacity within an established Security Operations Centre (SOC), supporting a critical Incident Preparedness and Response programme.
The role will focus on strengthening operational cyber resilience, supporting security incident management, improving threat detection and response processes, and helping the existing SOC team manage competing priorities and operational workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on cybersecurity operations support across critical technology environments and programmes.
- Support incident preparedness, investigation, triage, escalation and response activities.
- Analyse security alerts, threats and vulnerabilities, identifying appropriate remediation and response actions.
- Support operational decision-making, threat prioritisation and risk management.
- Reduce existing SOC backlogs and improve incident handling, reporting and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with security, infrastructure, cloud and technology teams to coordinate incident response activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve SOC processes, operational playbooks and incident response procedures.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of cyber resilience and operational security capabilities.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience working within a Security Operations Centre or cyber security operations function.
- Proven experience in security incident management, threat analysis and incident response.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, security monitoring, alert investigation and vulnerability management tools.
- Understanding of cloud and hybrid infrastructure security, ideally across Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
