We're supporting a major public sector programme looking to bring in an experienced Technical Delivery Manager to support a large-scale transformation and migration initiative across critical communications services. This role will sit at the centre of a high-profile programme focused on the exit and transformation of legacy infrastructure services, coordinating stakeholders across Defence to ensure successful migration plans and technical solutions are delivered against mandated timelines.

The Role

You'll take ownership of delivery management activities across a complex technical transformation programme, engaging with System Owners, consuming services, MSPs and wider Defence stakeholders to ensure migration plans are defined, tracked and delivered. The role will involve coordinating technical transition activity, managing delivery schedules and ensuring progress is communicated clearly across the programme. This is a highly stakeholder-heavy role requiring someone comfortable operating across large, complex Defence environments while maintaining oversight of delivery plans, dependencies, reporting and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engagement with System Owners, consuming services and Defence stakeholders to support migration and transformation activity
  • Coordinate plans for the migration of legacy communication services and aligned technical products
  • Work closely with MSPs and technical stakeholders to identify and track enduring technical solutions
  • Produce and maintain delivery schedules, burn down charts and transformation reporting
  • Track programme progress across MOD tooling including POL, ARM, Dependency Trackers and Highlight Reports
  • Support communication activity across the wider Defence community including technical updates, DINs and governance reporting
  • Track savings and benefits realised through service cessation and transformation activity
  • Ensure reporting outputs and acceptance criteria are consistently met across each reporting period

Essential

  • Active SC Clearance
  • Previous experience delivering technical transformation or infrastructure migration programmes within Defence environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement experience across large-scale, complex organisations
  • Experience working within MoD environments or alongside Royal Signals
  • Strong delivery governance, reporting and planning experience
  • Ability to manage dependencies, risks and delivery tracking across multiple workstreams
  • Experience producing senior-level reporting and programme communications

Desirable

  • Experience working on telecommunications, network or infrastructure transformation programmes
  • Experience supporting legacy service exits or large-scale technical migrations

The Details

  • 6 months contract
  • Inside IR35
  • £500 - £525 per day inclusive
  • Wiltshire-based, initially 3 days per week on site with potential flexibility over time
