We’re looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to join a fast‑paced, product‑led environment focused on building and enhancing a highly scalable SaaS platform. The initial focus will be on a Rails upgrade across a mature codebase, followed by integration work across multiple services and platforms. You’ll be working in a collaborative, engineering‑driven team, contributing to a platform that places strong emphasis on performance, security, and real‑world impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a Ruby on Rails upgrade across an existing production system
- Identify risks, dependencies, and improvements as part of the upgrade process
- Design and build robust RESTful APIs to support internal and external integrations
- Contribute to integration work with third‑party systems and internal services
- Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code
- Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver high‑quality solutions
- Support performance optimisation and scalability improvements
Essential
- Strong commercial experience with Ruby on Rails
- Proven experience upgrading Rails applications (ideally across multiple versions)
- Solid understanding of REST APIs and service‑based architectures
- Experience working on production‑grade, scalable applications
- Experience with modern development practices (CI/CD, version control, code reviews)
Desirable
- Experience with system integrations (third‑party APIs, event‑driven architectures, etc.)
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar)
- Experience working in security‑focused or high‑availability environments
- Frontend exposure (React or similar)

- Contract: 3 months initially + 3 month extension on a new SoW.
