Overview: We are supporting a strategically significant programme in the defence and national security space and are seeking a senior leader to take on the role of Head of Information Cyber Policy Management Assurance. This contract role will lead information security and cyber policy governance at a programme level, ensuring frameworks, standards, and assurance activities are aligned with complex operational delivery and high-assurance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and own the information and cyber policy strategy across a classified programme
- Set governance standards and oversee security assurance frameworks
- Lead audit, assessment, and compliance activities across multiple delivery streams
- Act as senior authority for policy interpretation, waivers, risk acceptance and exemptions
- Ensure alignment between policy, assurance, risk management, and engineering delivery
- Provide clear senior-level reporting on compliance status and security posture
- Engage confidently with stakeholders across cyber, engineering, assurance, and governance functions
- Drive continuous improvement in policy maturity and assurance consistency
Required Experience Skills:
- Extensive experience leading cyber and information security policy and assurance functions
- Proven background operating at Head of / Senior Manager / Principal authority level
- Strong knowledge of risk-based governance, compliance, and assurance models
- Defence, government, or similarly regulated experience essential
- Comfortable balancing policy rigour with operational delivery in secure environments
- Strong communicator, capable of influencing at senior and executive levels
- Active SC clearance required (minimum)
