Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for planning, facilitating, and managing the IPA review, as well as leading the implementation of recommendations.
- This role requires the ability to operate at a senior level, engaging effectively with SCS colleagues, Arm's-Length Bodies (ALBs), and external suppliers.
- Lead the planning and execution of the IPA review, ensuring a thorough and objective assessment of programme delivery.
- Facilitate review sessions, workshops, and interviews with stakeholders across Defra, ALBs, and suppliers.
- Analyse findings and produce actionable recommendations to improve programme delivery.
- Drive the implementation of IPA recommendations, including monitoring progress and addressing risks.
- Collaborate with the digital team to address issues highlighted during the review.
- Act as a senior liaison, influencing stakeholders and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on programme status and progress.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in senior programme or project delivery roles within complex public sector programmes.
- Strong track record in leading IPA or similar assurance reviews and implementing recommendations.
- Ability to work at a senior level with executive stakeholders and manage cross-organisational relationships.
- Excellent planning, facilitation, and reporting skills.
- Strong understanding of programme governance, risk management, and delivery assurance.
- Experience working in hybrid delivery environments with digital, operational, and external suppliers.
- SFIA Level 6 competency in programme and project management.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with Defra programmes, ALBs, or environmental policy delivery.
- Experience in digital transformation or change programmes impacting multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of circular economy or EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) initiatives.
