We're working with a specialist consultancy delivering large-scale transformation programmes across central government, and they're looking to bring in an experienced Enterprise Architect to support a major public sector engagement.
This is a key role focused on shaping enterprise-wide architecture strategy, aligning business and technology roadmaps, and supporting the delivery of complex digital transformation initiatives within a highly regulated environment.
The Role
As an Enterprise Architect, you'll work closely with senior stakeholders, delivery teams, and technical architects to define architectural direction across a broad and evolving technology landscape. You'll be responsible for ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to long-term business objectives while helping drive architectural governance and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain enterprise architecture roadmaps and target state architectures
- Provide strategic architectural guidance across multiple programmes and workstreams
- Align business capabilities with technology strategy and transformation goals
- Support governance, design authority, and architectural assurance processes
- Work closely with solution, security, and technical architects across delivery teams
- Engage with senior stakeholders to influence technology decisions and investment priorities
- Ensure architectural approaches meet public sector standards, security, and compliance requirements
Essential
- Proven experience operating as an Enterprise Architect within complex environments
- Strong background delivering enterprise-wide transformation programmes
- Experience working within central government or wider public sector organisations
- Strong understanding of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF
- Ability to engage and influence senior technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Broad technical knowledge across cloud, infrastructure, applications, and integration
- Strong governance and stakeholder management experience
- Knowledge of government architecture standards and assurance processes
- SC Cleared
Desirable
- Experience working within consultancy environments
- Exposure to cloud-first and hybrid architecture environments
