We're supporting a consultancy delivering large-scale transformation programmes across the public sector and are looking for an experienced Data Architect to join a high-performing architecture team.
The Role
You'll be responsible for shaping and designing enterprise-scale data architectures across both OLTP and OLAP environments, supporting complex transformation programmes from discovery through to implementation. The role will involve working closely with senior stakeholders, leading architecture discussions, facilitating workshops and translating evolving business requirements into clear, implementable data models and interface specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design logical and physical data models across enterprise data platforms
- Develop data architectures supporting complex pipelines and medallion architectures
- Define schemas, interface contracts, message structures and data flows
- Lead workshops and architecture walkthroughs with senior stakeholders
- Support data governance, lineage, security and data quality initiatives
- Produce high-quality architecture artefacts, roadmaps and governance documentation
- Work collaboratively across delivery, engineering and client teams in complex environments
- Contribute to reusable frameworks, methodologies and consulting collateral
- Mentor team members and support best practice across architecture engagements
Essential Experience
- Strong experience as a Data Architect
- Expertise in data modelling including E/R, Star, Snowflake and multi-dimensional modelling
- Experience designing data architectures for both OLTP and OLAP use cases
- Strong understanding of data governance, data management and MDM concepts
- Experience defining interface specifications, APIs and data contracts
- Comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and leading technical discussions
- Ability to produce clear architecture documentation and presentations
- Experience working within public sector or highly regulated environments
- SC Clearance eligibility required
Desirable Experience
- Experience with Databricks
- Familiarity with Sparx EA
- Exposure to POLE data models/stores
- Experience operating within complex multi-supplier programmes
