SR2 is supporting a major healthcare transformation programme seeking Procurement Transformation Consultants to support NHS organisations and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) in delivering procurement improvement and commercial optimisation initiatives. These roles will focus on improving procurement processes, reducing non-pay expenditure, and supporting large-scale sourcing and commercial transformation programmes across healthcare systems.
Working with procurement leaders, finance teams, and operational stakeholders, consultants will help design and implement more efficient procurement strategies while ensuring compliance with NHS procurement frameworks and regulations. Multiple roles are available across the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support end-to-end procurement processes including sourcing, tendering, supplier evaluation, and contract award.
- Identify and deliver cost savings opportunities across clinical and non-clinical procurement categories.
- Support procurement transformation initiatives within NHS organisations and Integrated Care Boards.
- Develop sourcing strategies, commercial frameworks, and category management approaches.
- Conduct spend analysis and supplier benchmarking to identify procurement efficiencies.
- Support supplier negotiations, contract optimisation, and supplier consolidation initiatives.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with public sector procurement regulations and NHS frameworks.
- Engage with clinical, operational, and finance stakeholders to ensure procurement solutions align with service delivery needs.
- Experience delivering procurement programmes or sourcing exercises within large organisations.
- Experience running procurement processes (RFPs, tenders, supplier evaluations).
- Strong understanding of commercial strategy, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Experience analysing procurement spend and identifying cost saving opportunities.
- Ability to engage with senior stakeholders across procurement, finance, and operational teams.
- Consulting or transformation programme experience preferred.
- NHS procurement or public sector procurement environments.
- Familiarity with NHS procurement frameworks and governance structures.
- Experience in category management or strategic sourcing.
- Procurement within healthcare, life sciences, or regulated industries.
