Lead Technical Security Engineer - SC Cleared
We are looking for an experienced Lead Technical Security Engineer to support complex cybersecurity remediation and security improvement initiatives across government and public sector environments.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on strengthening cyber resilience, improving security controls and delivering practical remediation solutions across Microsoft security technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical security remediation activities across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
- Design, implement and optimise security solutions using Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Purview, Entra ID and Intune.
- Strengthen Identity and Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), MFA and Conditional Access controls.
- Implement Zero Trust, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), endpoint security and threat detection capabilities.
- Develop security monitoring, automation and detection solutions using Microsoft Sentinel and KQL.
- Translate security assessments, vulnerabilities and audit findings into actionable remediation plans.
- Work closely with security architects, engineers and senior stakeholders to deliver sustainable security improvements.
- Ensure solutions align with NCSC guidance, Secure by Design principles and government security standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Extensive hands‑on experience with Microsoft security technologies, particularly Sentinel, Defender, Purview and Entra ID.
- Strong expertise in Azure and Microsoft 365 security architecture.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise‑scale security remediation and engineering solutions.
- In‑depth understanding of IAM, Zero Trust, cloud security, DLP and security operations.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting complex hybrid and cloud environments.
