We are seeking experienced Kotlin Developers to join a high-profile national digital programme, building secure, scalable, and user-focused Android applications that support a major government digital transformation initiative. This is an opportunity to work on modern mobile products with significant public impact, leveraging the latest Android technologies and best practices. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, delivery specialists, and fellow engineers to create high-quality, reliable, and secure mobile experiences used at scale. Due to the nature of the programme, active SC clearance is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain modern Android applications using Kotlin as the primary language.
- Build responsive and scalable user interfaces using Jetpack Compose.
- Architect robust, maintainable, and testable solutions following Android best practices and modern design patterns.
- Integrate Android applications with RESTful APIs, JSON services, and external data sources.
Required Experience
- Strong commercial experience developing native Android applications in Kotlin.
- Active SC Clearance.
- Advanced knowledge of Kotlin, including coroutines, flows, extension functions, and modern language features.
- Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose and contemporary Android UI development.
- Strong understanding of Android architecture principles, including MVVM, dependency injection, and modular application design.
- Experience consuming and integrating RESTful APIs and working with JSON data.
- Familiarity with Android libraries and frameworks such as Jetpack components.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
