SR2 Consulting is working on a number of live insurance transformation opportunities for a leading global financial services consultancy, with bid activity already underway and delivery mobilisation expected to follow in quick succession. We are looking for a senior Insurance SME with a genuine blend of industry, consulting and technology transformation experience - someone who can credibly shape a winning proposal and then walk straight into delivering it.

This is a rare opportunity to be the named insurance authority on bids that are live now, with the credibility and seniority to lead the delivery work that follows.

The Opportunity

We are placing senior insurance practitioners into named roles on live bids across general insurance, life and pensions, and London Market opportunities. Successful bids convert directly into delivery roles.

  • Act as the named insurance SME on proposals - bringing credibility, sector insight and the confidence that comes from having actually delivered this work before.
  • Shape solution design, win themes and client narrative alongside bid teams.
  • Transition into delivery leadership where bids are won - leading workstreams, advising clients and driving outcomes.
  • Work across general insurance, life and pensions, or London Market and specialty - we are open on sector specialism.
  • Operate at Director or CxO level, with the gravitas to influence both client stakeholders and internal delivery teams.
What We're Looking For

This role suits someone with a genuinely mixed background - deep insurance industry experience, time spent in consulting, and a strong grounding in technology and transformation delivery. You will have sat on both sides of the table and know what good looks like from each.

  • Significant senior experience within the insurance industry - carrier, broker, MGA or reinsurer - combined with consulting experience at a recognised firm.
  • Strong background in technology and transformation delivery - core platform modernisation, claims or underwriting transformation, digital and data programmes.
  • Track record of contributing to or leading bids and proposals, ideally with direct experience of converting bid work into delivery mandates.
  • Comfortable operating as a credible authority in front of senior client stakeholders - C-suite, COOs, CTOs and transformation leads.
  • Confident moving fluidly between strategic narrative and delivery detail - equally credible in a bid room and on a programme steering committee.
Why This Role
  • Live bid activity now, with delivery mobilisation to follow - this is active work, not a future possibility.
  • Genuine variety - multiple opportunities across different lines of insurance mean no two engagements look the same.
  • Work alongside a leading global consultancy on programmes that matter, with the autonomy of an associate model.
  • Be the named expert that wins the work, then the leader who delivers it - end to end ownership rather than handover.
  • Open to contract or associate-based engagement, with rates reflecting the seniority and impact of the role.

If you have the blend of insurance, consulting and transformation experience to operate at this level, and want to be involved in live opportunities from bid through to delivery, we would like to hear from you. Get in touch with your CV and a short note on your background.
