Using proprietary machine learning to assess affordability and risk, they’ve already disbursed over 5 million loans and positively impacted more than 4 million lives.
As they scale into new markets and gear up for Series D and IPO, they’re seeking an experienced Contract Director of Engineering to lead and mature engineering functions across backend, frontend, mobile, testing, and architecture.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead, mentor, and develop senior engineering leaders across multiple disciplines
- Translate business goals into scalable technical strategy
- Drive engineering delivery across core lending platforms
- Support the CTO in strategic leadership and deputise where needed
- Ensure robust engineering execution through DevOps/SRE principles
- Set high-performance standards through metric-driven leadership (e.g., DORA)
- Proven experience as a Director, VP, or Head of Engineering within FinTech or high-growth tech businesses
- Strong technical understanding across cloud, backend systems, APIs, and architecture
- Experience managing full SDLC, scaling teams, and building high-performing engineering culture
- Executive-level communication and leadership capabilities
- Deep understanding of FinTech environments, regulations, and platform scalability
