GBAD / Land Systems Integration Engineer - Defence

SR2 is working alongside an exciting defence client seeking a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to support complex Land Systems and Ground Based Air Defence (GBAD) programmes.
This is a senior engineering position with a strong focus on requirements, systems integration, interoperability and interface management across complex defence capabilities.
Direct GBAD experience would be highly valuable, but we're also keen to speak with experienced engineers from wider Land Systems, C4ISR, radar, sensors, effectors and vehicle integration backgrounds.
The Role
You’ll work alongside the client, engineering teams, programme stakeholders and suppliers to support the successful integration and acceptance of complex defence systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting requirements engineering activities
- Supporting complex Land Systems and GBAD programmes
- Managing systems integration across multiple capabilities and subsystems
- Ensuring effective interoperability between systems
- Leading and coordinating interface management
- Developing and maintaining Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Producing and maintaining relevant GEAR artefacts
- Developing Statements of Requirement (SORs)
- Producing and supporting systems integration strategies
- Developing test and acceptance plans
- Supporting system-level verification, testing and acceptance activity
- Coordinating integration across C4ISR, radar, sensors, effectors and vehicle systems
- Working with multidisciplinary engineering, programme and supplier teams
- Identifying and managing technical integration risks, dependencies and interfaces
- Ensuring technical outputs meet programme and engineering requirements
What We're Looking For
You’ll ideally bring experience across several of the following:
- Systems Engineering within defence or another highly complex engineering environment
- Systems Integration across multiple platforms, subsystems or technologies
- Requirements capture, development and management
- Interoperability between complex defence systems
- Interface definition and interface management
- Developing and managing ICDs
- Producing GEAR artefacts
- Developing SORs
- Integration strategy and planning
- Test, verification and acceptance planning
- Working with complex systems involving C4ISR, radar, sensors, effectors or vehicles
- Working across customer, supplier and multidisciplinary engineering organisations
- Strong technical stakeholder management skills
Particularly Relevant Experience
Direct experience within Ground Based Air Defence (GBAD) would be particularly valuable. We’re also keen to speak with candidates from:
- Wider Land Systems programmes
- DE&S
- British Army
- Cat A defence programmes
- C4ISR programmes
- Radar and sensor integration
- Effector/weapon integration
- Military vehicle integration
- Communications and battlefield systems
- Complex defence Systems Engineering programmes
Experience from organisations such as DE&S, QinetiQ, MBDA, BAE Systems, General Dynamics UK, Leonardo, Thales, Lockheed Martin, Roke or similar defence environments could be highly transferable.
We’re also particularly interested in ex-military engineers and defence systems/software engineers who can demonstrate hands-on experience across systems integration, requirements, interoperability, interfaces or testing.
