We're looking for an experienced Data Platform Architect with strong expertise in Databricks and AWS to support the design and delivery of a modern enterprise data platform.

This is a senior, hands-on architecture role where you'll take ownership of technical design, establish engineering standards and help deliver secure, scalable cloud-based data solutions.

You'll work closely with data engineering, cloud infrastructure and security teams to shape the platform's architecture and support its implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of enterprise data platforms using Databricks and AWS

• Define scalable Lakehouse architectures, including Delta Lake and medallion architecture

• Design secure cloud infrastructure and data integration patterns

• Implement data governance and access controls using Unity Catalog

• Establish architecture standards and reusable engineering patterns

• Support batch processing, streaming and data integration requirements

• Define infrastructure and deployment approaches using Terraform and CI/CD

• Ensure platform security, performance, reliability and cost efficiency

• Review technical designs and provide architectural guidance to engineering teams

• Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions

• Medallion Architecture

• AWS services including S3, IAM, VPC and Glue

• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code

• Data platform security and governance

• Cloud data integration and engineering patterns

• Enterprise data platform architecture

• Technical leadership and architecture design

Desirable Experience

• AWS Kinesis / EventBridge

• dbt

• Databricks Workflows

• CI/CD and DevOps

• Cloud platform monitoring and optimisation

• Experience with large-scale data migrations

• Public sector or regulated environments

• Relevant Databricks or AWS certifications

About You

You’ll be an experienced Data Platform Architect, Databricks Architect or Cloud Data Architect who has successfully designed and delivered enterprise-scale data platforms.

We’re particularly interested in candidates who can combine strong Databricks architecture expertise with hands‑on AWS knowledge, while providing technical direction across complex engineering programmes.

You’ll be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, making architectural decisions and ensuring solutions are secure, scalable and maintainable.
