We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the Security work-stream on a large-scale digital transformation programme within a complex public sector environment. The role will focus on managing the security delivery plan, dependencies, risks, governance and supplier activity across a broad enterprise IT landscape. The successful candidate will work closely with the Security Architect, who will act as the technical SME, as well as suppliers, delivery partners, technical teams and operational stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Owning and managing the Security workstream plan, including milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and governance.
- Coordinating security delivery activity across suppliers, delivery partners, operational stakeholders and technical teams.
- Working closely with the Security Architect to develop and maintain the security delivery plan.
- Supporting assurance of proposed supplier solutions and escalating security risks or blockers where required.
- Applying security considerations to support informed decision-making.
- Managing stakeholder engagement, reporting and communications across technical, business and operational teams.
- Supporting security readiness, assurance and transition activity where required.
- Bringing structure, pace and delivery control to a fast-moving, multi-supplier environment.
Essential experience
- Proven project management experience within large-scale IT, digital or enterprise transformation programmes.
- Experience delivering or supporting security workstreams.
- Strong ability to manage delivery plans, suppliers, risks, issues, dependencies, stakeholder engagement and reporting.
- Good understanding of security principles including access management, patching, data protection, network security and operational resilience.
- Broad understanding of enterprise IT environments including infrastructure, applications, integrations, cloud services, networking and operational service management.
- Experience working closely with Security Architects, technical SMEs, technical teams and third-party suppliers.
- Confidence operating in complex, fast-paced, multi-supplier environments.
- Public sector delivery experience would be beneficial, particularly within policing, justice, defence, emergency services or wider government.
