Role Overview: We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to work closely with a data architect and the REM Virtual Team to research, define, and document comprehensive data requirements.

About the Project: Remote Electronic Monitoring (REM) involves integrated on-board systems on fishing vessels. The team is currently working with volunteer vessels to design and test systems, aiming for service implementation in 2027. To implement REM at scale, the programme requires clearly defined data storage, structure, access, and sharing requirements to inform the upcoming Discovery phase (March 2026) and support the programme business case.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and define data requirements for different vessel types (prioritising 10m vessels).
  • Specify storage, structure, access, sharing, and sustainability considerations.
  • Identify required data agreements with UK and EU bodies.
  • Ensure data quality, standardisation, and usability for analysis.
  • Provide high-level cost understanding to inform programme viability.
  • Assist the REM Virtual Team in evaluating and comparing REM suppliers.
  • Develop reusable data requirement artefacts for internal and external stakeholders.
