Senior Modelling & Simulation Engineer - Contract - Hybrid (Bristol)
We're looking for an experienced Modelling & Simulation Engineer to support the development and analysis of complex systems across defence and marine engineering programmes.
This is a senior-level contract role focused on developing vehicle and system-level models, control algorithms, and simulations using MATLAB/Simulink.
You'll work across model development, verification, systems analysis, and customer delivery, supporting technically complex programmes from requirements through to validated models.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong MATLAB / Simulink experience
- Industrial experience modelling and analysing complex engineering systems
- Experience developing vehicle and system-level dynamic models
- Strong understanding of control systems and system performance
- Experience with hydro-actuated and/or electro-mechanical actuation systems
- Multi-body simulation or vehicle dynamics experience
- Systems engineering knowledge
- Experience with model verification, documentation, and peer review
Desirable
- Advanced control theory, Kalman filtering, or state estimation
- Real-time modelling and simulation
- Model-based code generation
- C/C++ development
- Flight controls, vehicle control, or motor control experience
- Marine or defence programme experience
- Exposure to model-based development standards such as DO-331
