Junior Data Engineer - AWS - SC Cleared
Excellent opportunity for a junior Data Engineer looking to take the next step in their career on a multi-year central government programme.
We're looking for enthusiastic Data Engineers to join a large-scale data and analytics programme, working with modern cloud technologies and helping to build secure, scalable data platforms.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in data engineering who wants to develop their technical skills, take on greater responsibility and gain exposure to technologies including Kafka, Terraform and Java.
Due to the nature of the roles, active SC clearance is required.
You don't need to be an expert in every technology. The team is happy to support cross-training and upskilling for candidates who demonstrate strong engineering fundamentals, a willingness to learn and the ambition to progress.
What you'll be doing
- Designing, building and maintaining data pipelines and data-processing services.
- Developing solutions using Python, SQL and potentially Java.
- Working with AWS and cloud-native data platforms.
- Gaining hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, streaming data and event-driven architectures.
- Learning and applying Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Supporting ETL/ELT processes, data transformation and integration.
- Contributing to CI/CD, automated deployments and production support.
- Collaborating with experienced engineers and architects to develop your tech
