SR Plumbing is recruiting a Boiler Breakdown Engineer to handle domestic heating work across Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear. This is a practical fault-finding role covering boiler breakdowns, heating repairs, servicing support and related plumbing tasks. It will suit someone who can turn up prepared, work through faults methodically and leave customers with a clear understanding of the repair.
Responsibilities
- Visit domestic customers for boiler breakdown, heating and hot water issues.
- Trace faults across boilers, controls, radiators and wider heating systems.
- Complete repairs safely, including related heating and plumbing tasks where appropriate.
- Support servicing and landlord gas safety appointments when the schedule requires it.
- Give customers a clear explanation of the fault and the recommended repair route.
- Record job notes properly so the office team has a clear history of each visit.
- Plan your day sensibly across the service area you are covering.
Requirements
- Gas Safe registered for domestic gas work.
- A minimum of 3 years working on domestic boiler breakdown and repair jobs.
- Practical understanding of heating controls, radiators, pipework and common system faults.
- Confidence diagnosing issues across a range of boiler brands.
- Full UK driving licence.
- A tidy, reliable and customer-conscious way of working.
