Customs Clearance Coordinator responsible for managing import/export processes in the UK, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations, preparing documentation, liaising with clients and authorities, and coordinating shipments to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance. As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately input customer data into the Descartes system
  • Validate and sense-check data against source documents, identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Prepare and submit import and export declarations via CDS
  • Create transit declarations using NCTS (New — Computerised Transit System)
  • Complete ENS (Entry Summary) declarations
  • Manage and resolve queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Liaise directly with HMRC and other relevant customs authorities
  • Support and manage the team mailbox
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations team and ensure clear communication on customs matters
  • Undertake any additional duties as required by management

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. Your training course: International freight forwarding specialist - Equal to Level 3 (A level).
