Barnsfold Nurseries Limited is a wholesale bedding and pot plant nursery based in West Sussex which is now part of the Squires Garden Centre family.

We supply Garden Centres and Local Authorities predominately in the South of England.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to manage the sales office, providing first class customer service.

Full time - 39 hours Monday - Thursday 08:00-16:30, Friday 08:00-15:30

The role includes

  • Report directly to the Sales Manager.
  • Assist in organising the sales team of up to 25 on a daily basis with the Sales Manager.
  • Manage the sales office day to day.
  • Ensure the smooth processing of orders.
  • Answer customer queries and requests.
  • Create sales reports.
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service to our customers.
  • Carrying out the induction and training of the sales team.
  • Assisting in stock control.
  • Oversee dispatch to ensure orders are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
  • This is a nursery environment, so the role is not solely office based.
  • There will be some compulsory overtime during the peak season of March, April & May. · Weekend duties on a rota basis during the peak season of March, April & May.

Required skills and attributes

  • Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous Supervisory/Management experience and strong relationship-building skills are a must
  • Ability to self-motivate yet work as part of a strong team.
  • Good IT skills essential.
  • Positive mindset.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Previous experience of working within the horticultural sector valuable but not essential.
