Our Team

Reporting into the Manchester office Secretarial Services Manager, you will be working closely with the Legal Secretaries in our Real Estate practice group, providing secretarial and administration support to the Partners and Associates.

Opportunity

This role would be ideal for someone who is an experienced Secretary supporting at partner level in a national or global law firm.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct client inceptions and billing; maintain telephone and email contact with clients.
  • Documentation work, expenses, arranging travel, filing and archiving; participate in daily tasks of a busy law firm.
  • Collaborate with the existing team; take ownership of complex billing tasks and client reporting; manage client and matter inceptions (including understanding KYC requirements).
  • Extensive diary management and coordinating international travel.
  • General tasks as needed to support the busy firm operations.

You must have a positive and professional approach at all times.

You

This is a varied role and you’ll need to be an organised and pro-active individual who can prioritise. You should be a self-starter, able to manage time and workload effectively, be flexible, and able to work in a team to assist other departments when required. You should be able to use your initiative and identify where help is needed with limited supervision. You will deal with individuals at all levels, including clients of the firm; you must be confident in communicating warmly and professionally with superb interpersonal skills. You should have good knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages, strong keyboard skills, and meticulous attention to detail. You will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a professional service firm.
