We are seeking an experienced Construction lawyer at the Associate, Senior Associate or Director level with a solid background across either the contentious or non‑contentious aspects of Construction & Engineering law – or a mixture of both – to join our successful team in Birmingham. The role is suited to a candidate with a commercial attitude, who is confident, proactive, has good people skills, can work as a team player and has an interest in business development.
Responsibilities
- Build long‑lasting relationships with clients, potential clients and advisers.
- Deliver high‑quality work across a diverse range of sectors, including engineering plant (energy & power), process plant in manufacturing, built infrastructure and other projects.
- Handle a mix of contentious and non‑contentious matters.
- Advise on standard UK contracts (NEC4, JCT, Model Forms) and international forms such as FIDIC, IChemE and bespoke turnkey contracts.
- Engage in all forms of dispute resolution – litigation, arbitration (including international), dispute boards, adjudication and ADR.
- Provide direct client contact and contribute to business development.

- Qualified lawyer with 4+ PQE.
- Strong track record in Construction & Engineering law.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality, commercially focused legal solutions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
