As a Shift Trader, you will play a critical role in risk management, trade oversight, operational lifecycle management, and incident response.
You will also actively contribute to the automation and efficiency of the team’s workflow by developing tools and scripts to streamline monitoring and trading operations.ResponsibilitiesActive Risk Monitoring:Monitor real-time exposures across Squarepoint’s trading activitiesProactively raise alerts and escalate incidents as requiredExecute hedging actions following established proceduresMonitor profit and loss, and risk metrics, ensuring continuity during market holidaysProduction Monitoring:Oversee systematic trading strategies, including restarting as neededRespond to alerts and ensure the smooth operation of trading processesSupport internal teams with issue escalation and resolutionAd-hoc Trading & Operations Tasks:Perform ad-hoc hedging and booking tasks as they ariseSupport pilots and special initiativesRespond to diverse requests from internal and external stakeholdersAdditional oversight areas (as activity scales):Monitor market-making activities and exposures, taking action in case of issuesUse and improve tools to run post-execution analysis and achieve best executionSupport trading of new products as they are launched (e.g., power and gas markets)Oversee lifecycle management tasks, including monitoring of position rolls, option expirations, and corporate actionsRespond rapidly to risk limit breaches and serve as a contact point for market counterpartiesSupport near round-the-clock trading, including special coverage for weekend or holiday marketsProcess Improvement:Dedicate time to streamlining monitoring and booking workflows using scripting or automationEngage with stakeholders to identify new requirements and extend team responsibilitiesQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or related fieldProgramming proficiency in Python. xsabvtc
