The Data Engineering team is responsible for ingesting vast quantities of data into Squarepoint. Our team works closely with stakeholders as well as data vendors to deliver quality data for production and research purposes. As a successful Data Development Integrator, you will occupy a key role.
You will:
- Own vendor management for the Data Engineering team. This will involve continuous interaction with the Data Onboarding team and vendors to understand incoming data ingestion projects, planned vendor changes, and business priorities.
- Drive Data Engineering triage. You will work on scoping and validating new initiatives, in addition to allocating them to the right implementation teams through the triage process.
- Foster collaboration within Data Engineering. You will build close relationships with global Data Engineering leads and their business stakeholders, to drive efficient collaboration through a deep understanding of the people, problems, and processes involved.
- Increase data quality through lifecycle management of vendor datasets. You will be in charge of implementing technical requirements that do not need any code change but can be delivered via configuration. Alternatively, you would work with data engineers for more complex changes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related subject
- 5+ years of experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of software/hardware concepts, software development life cycle and processes around them
- Experience with the Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence) and git (Gitlab)
Nice to haves
- Experience working with data vendors, trading exchanges or similar
- Working knowledge of a scripting language like Python
- Working knowledge of data transfer protocols (SFTP, S3, HTTP) and databases
