We are seeking a junior DM corporate credit analyst who will be supervised by a senior analyst in charge of covering a given set of sectors/regions on both bonds and loans instruments across the full risk spectrum, and contributing to a collection of fundamental credit strategies across our hedge fund and CLO vehicles.

The role of the junior analyst will be:

  • Assist the senior analyst by collecting information, attending investor presentations, running credit analysis and documenting credit memos.
  • Help the senior analyst monitor thoroughly and actively the fundamentals and market dynamics of all issuers in coverage on both bonds and loans instruments (notably across earnings or any events).
  • Be part of the buildout of the new Squarepoint CLO platform along with our CLO management PMs and DCM heads.
  • Contribute to our fundamental business for the hedge fund centred around primary, short duration and alpha capture.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degrees from top universities in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Mathematics/Statistics or related subjects.
  • Experience in researching, analyzing and modelling data – ideally through prior internship experience or in a related position.
  • 1 - 4 years of relevant experience as a bank desk analyst from High Yield/loans/distressed desk, Origination desk focusing on leveraged finance, Investment banking/M&A division covering any sector, or in buy-side firms: Long only credit asset managers, CLO shops, Credit specialists, HFs, Multi-strategy HFs, Big 4 auditing firms: Consulting/advisory, Deals/transaction, Audit teams covering any sectors.
  • Coding skill in Python and ease with Excel is a plus.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to quickly synthesise thoughts and organise information.
  • Openness to tackle any project or task that is required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with colleagues across multiple teams and regions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver under tight timelines.

The minimum base salary for this role is $150,000 if located in New York. This expectation is based on available information at the time of posting. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, which could constitute a significant portion of total compensation. This role may also be eligible for benefits, such as health, dental, and other wellness plans, as well as 401(k) contributions. Successful candidates’ compensation and benefits will be determined in consideration of various factors.
