Platform Specialists at Squarepoint play an important technical role in delivering mission-critical platform infrastructure using the DevOps methodology. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with internal and external stakeholders on building and maintaining automated platform solutions and services used across the firm. You will also be responsible for designing, monitoring, and maintaining platform infrastructure, and automating everyday tasks with scripting and configuration management tools. Responsibilities:
- Develop, deploy and maintain managed platform services, developer platforms and automation APIs.
- Develop and implement infrastructure and platform automation, configuration management using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Ensuring the availability and performance of the infrastructure and platform ecosystem.
- Design and implement scalable, highly available and deterministic network solutions in multi-vendor enterprise environments (LAN, WAN, DC, Campus and Cloud).
- Working with researchers and developers as internal consultants to understand their needs and provide infrastructure and platform solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Eagerness to continuously learn new technologies and develop with us.
- Working knowledge of Python, git, Bash and Linux.
- Knowledge of Linux and version control systems.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP concepts.
Nice to have:
- Experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles.
- Experience with modern software development tooling, such as Gitlab, Artifactory or Docker.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management, such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Experience with HPC and orchestration technologies, such as Slurm or Kubernetes.
- Experience with Databases and Observability systems, such as Elasticsearch, Datadog, Prometheus, PostgreSQL.
- Exposure to maintaining and administering Linux, storage and network infrastructure.
