Position Overview
We are looking for an accountant to join the Finance Team. Prior experience in accounting, auditing or finance with a proprietary trading firm/investment fund/alternative investment firm is a must. The accountant will assist in day-to-day financial operations of the group, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and compliance with accounting principles and regulations. As a multinational corporation, the company requires the candidate to have excellent communication skills to coordinate with colleagues stationed in different locations and work considering different time zones.
- Assist in the group's day-to-day financial operations.
- Collaborate with colleagues from the broader finance department and liaise with other relevant parties within the organization.
- Assist in the month-end closing procedures of the group.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet schedules and conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Assist in preparing consolidated/stand-alone financial statements for the group under US GAAP, IFRS and local reporting standards, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Coordinate with external and internal teams for monthly NAV reports and related schedules.
- Participate in various finance projects /ad-hoc requests from controller and other departments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Pursuing an accredited accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent, or being a finalist in any of these qualifications, would be a plus.
- Minimum of 3 - 8+ years of finance and accounting experience; experience with a proprietary trading firm/investment fund/alternative investment firm a plus.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including US GAAP and IFRS.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software and financial management systems; Workday Financials are a plus.
- Proficient in Excel and adept at using technology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Self-starter and can work with minimal supervision.
