Who we are

The News Movement (TNM) is a new media business bringing together leading industry figures and young, passionate journalists to help reset how we tell “the news” in an era of declining trust and increasing misinformation. We know that many voices are missing from the present conversation - we want to change that. We are driven by our purpose - to help millions of people around the world be better informed. We will do that by solving the under-supply of trusted, objective, high-quality news and useful information on social media and other digital platforms. We are particularly focused on serving younger social audiences. Our newsroom teams believe that factual unbiased journalism can be told in different and exciting ways via the channels that our audiences already enjoy. We want to explain the world and uncover the stories that matter.

Our commercial team - which operates independently of our newsroom editorial - are taking the lessons learned in our newsroom to help brands tell their stories. By applying the rigour of journalism, storytelling skills, and social understanding we are able to help brands navigate the digital space. Our areas of expertise include content creation, creator management, and consultancy. We offer account management services for brands looking to tap into the younger generation of audiences with a tone of authenticity and brand alignment.

  • Create content plans in line with current trends and brand behaviour online, rooted in the company’s latest news or key selling points.

  • Monitor social trends on a daily basis, ensuring the content plans remain relevant.
  • Liaising with and commissioning external creators to create content.

  • Proven hands-on experience in creating content for and managing multiple social media channels for a major brand(s). (Client-facing agency experience preferred)
  • Track record of achieving significant growth for social platforms (Examples will be requested).
  • Ability to ideate and create viral social media content - especially for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
  • Solid understanding of social media algorithms and content performance metrics are a must while previous experience using listening tools like Sprinklr, Tableau and BrandWatch would be an asset.
  • An ability to think strategically and act tactically - switching between workloads across accounts if necessary - is highly desirable.
  • Confident in presenting ideas and strategies and report on performance to external stakeholders.
  • Must be comfortable on camera and self-producing video content as well as creating static graphic content.
  • Must have a deep knowledge of British internet culture, and be up to date with trends in the brand social media space.
