Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together. So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.

Square is seeking a Senior Partnerships Manager to source, negotiate, and scale partnerships that fuel Square seller acquisition, retention, and business growth across the United Kingdom. Partners include referral networks, distributors, service providers, technology platforms, and strategic ecosystems where there is mutual benefit through lead generation, co‑sell, co‑marketing, and product enablement.

This is a highly visible, hands‑on role at the intersection of business development, growth, product, and go‑to‑market strategy. You will own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of strategic partnerships — from sourcing and deal structuring through to activation and ongoing optimisation — with a focus on creating partnerships that deliver incredible user experiences for Square sellers. You will work in tight collaboration with Product Marketing to shape partner narratives, positioning, and GTM motions, and partner cross‑functionally to drive measurable growth outcomes for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sourcing & Deal Execution: Identify, evaluate, and secure high‑impact partners; lead negotiations and close large‑scale partnership deals and product integrations that advance Square's capabilities and growth.
  • Product Partnership Development: Collaborate closely with Product and Product Marketing to design partnership experiences that delight sellers — ensuring integrations are seamless, valuable, and well‑positioned in market.
  • Growth Accountability: Deliver measurable results in lead generation, seller acquisition, and pipeline contribution through your portfolio of strategic partnerships.
  • Activation & Scaling: Launch partnerships with clear GTM plans, co‑marketing initiatives, and integrated roadmaps; work hand‑in‑hand with Product Marketing to bring partnerships to life for sellers.
  • Executive Relationship Management: Build and sustain senior‑level relationships with partners, ensuring long‑term value creation and mutual growth.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Product Marketing, Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Legal to ensure smooth execution and maximum impact. Bring an ownership mentality to how the team operates — actively contributing to team processes, rituals, and ways of working that make us better together.
  • Measurement & Optimisation: Define and track KPIs for partnership success, adjusting strategy and tactics as needed to drive continuous growth.

You Have

  • 8+ years in business development, strategic partnerships, and/or product partnerships, with demonstrated progression in scope and impact.
  • Hands‑on experience sourcing, negotiating, and closing large‑scale partnerships and product integrations.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Product Marketing; experience shaping partner positioning, co‑marketing, and GTM narratives.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect partnership strategy directly to measurable seller acquisition and revenue outcomes.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with a broad range of teams, with an ownership mentality.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills, with experience engaging at the executive level.
  • SaaS, fintech, or payments background strongly preferred.
