We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst with strong expertise in data management and banking & capital markets. The role involves working closely with business and technology teams to deliver data-driven solutions for trading, risk, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency within the banking and financial services sector.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business requirements related to banking products and services.
- Translate business needs into comprehensive functional and technical specifications, including logical designs and user stories, for development teams.
- Conduct gap analysis, impact analysis, and feasibility studies for new initiatives.
- Prepare detailed documentation including BRDs, FRDs, process flows, and data models.
- Perform data analysis, profiling, and validation to support solution design and regulatory reporting.
- Facilitate workshops, create process flows, and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Act as a liaison between business users and technology teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with product owners, data engineers, QA teams, and project managers to ensure successful delivery of banking solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of banking and capital markets, for data domains such as Instrument, Party, Product, Arrangements, Books, Trade & reference data (e.g.: Geography, Currency, Holidays etc.).
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and reporting requirements in banking especially in the EMEA region (ECB, BSCB2329 etc).
Business Analysis Skills
- Strong requirement gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to create FRDs, and user stories for Agile delivery.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL & deep understanding of database concepts.
- Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance principles.
Tools & Methodologies
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like JIRA, Confluence.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) for data solutions.
- Knowledge/experience of Azure Data Factory, DataBricks.
- Knowledge of risk systems (e.g., Murex, Calypso) or trade processing platforms.
